Re: Genealogy

Charlemagne married a daughter of of Desiderius, King of the Lombards, at
the instance of his mother; but he repudiated her at the end of a year. He
then married Hildegard a Suabian. He had three sons with her Charles, Pepin
and Louis and three daughters Hruodrud, Bertha, and and Gisela. He had
three other daughters besides these Theoderada, Hiltrud, and Ruodhaid two
by his third wife, Fastrada, a German (East Frank) and the third by a
concubine. Fastrada died in 794 he married Liutgard the union had no
children. After her death he had three concubines One Gersuinda, a Saxon
produced Adaltrud Regina.

I, for one, would love to see a chart that showed 25 generations without
some modern imagination. Is this like connect the dots?

The 'droits du seigneur' included the right of the first night with a new
bride. It was not a case of the English oppressing the Scots it was a
common European practice.
