Re: note for Bannockburn and Gilbert de Clare

Dear Sinclair,

When I first started with the genealogy study, I was as confused as you. Not
that it still isn't confusing. I had always looked at relationship in the
traditional manner. However, in genealogy there is a different method for
determining relationship. This is the true method, though it is not
understood by most laymen who do not study genealogy. It is programed in to
Family Tree Maker and other such programs.

At this website you will find a simple chart which is guaranteed to confuse
you more. http://www.grl.com/grl/relationship.shtml .

Confused?

Stan
