Sinclairs in Norway [in Norway]

[flag of More og Romsdal] Here are some links to items in Rollo and Rogenvald's home Norwegian region of More og Romsdal.
The recorded ancestry of the Sinclairs goes well back into Norway, although of course they weren't called that back then, since the surname St. Clair or Sinclair was adopted in Normandy, after Rollo the Viking received the territory that became known as Normandy from the French King Charles the Simple.

Rollo also had King problems back in Norway, which was one reason he was a-Viking. He didn't care for the new-found power of the first King of Norway Harold I Fairhair (c.850-c.933), who reigned 872-c.933, even though Rollo's father Rogenvald the Mighty, Earl of Orkney and also Earl of More in Norway, was instrumental in putting Harald on the throne.

Sinclairs are perhaps best remembered in Norway for the the Battle of Kringom, which George Sinclair of Caithness lost in 1612 to the Norwegians.
