Re: The Roll of Battle Abbey - Sinclairs at the Battle of Hastings



In an earlier posting by Niven some time ago, he mentioned purchasing
a multi volume reprinting of the Domesday Book which identifies
several Sinclair's as prominent landowners at or prior to 1086.  I
can't remember the specifics, but it might possibly be that the
mysterious "nine knight" were these landowners, not companions of
William who fought with him on the field of battle on 14 October 1066.
