It was a framed certifacate given to the family that day by the mayor of Hartford City Indiana, and accepted on behalf of the family by my sister. Although I have been looking for a sabre like the one used by the Union Cavalry, I do not have one. Incidentally, Hiram's headstone was leaning a bit. I went to the cemetary and straightened it a few weeks before the ceremony. As I had other issues that weekend, I arrived at dawn to complete the work. While walking back to my truck, with my shovel, and muddy boots, I encountered and elderly woman. She made a bee line a far away from me as possible.
