James Sinclair, 1st of Murkle married Elizabeth Stuart, dau of Robert Earl
of Strathearn and Orkney,
and had the following:

1    James    (his successor) appears to have been married twice -
        1    Margaret Dundas
        2    Jean dau of William Stewart of Burray, Orkney
2    Francis    Md 19July1621 to Janet dau of Alex Sutherland of Forss
3    Agnes    Md John MacKay of Dirlot and Strathy

James 1st of Murkle also had a natural son:

John        Later 1st of Assery
