R.I.P. Emily Sinclair Custer

The last surviving child of William Thomas Sinclair and Ellen Damon 
Sinclair,Emily Custer painter, sculptor, and mother was born in Kennett 
Square,Pennsylvania in 1913, married John Alexander Custer in 1940, and died in 
Scotts Valley, California in 2001.  
   Educated at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, president of the Greater 
Norristown Art League, member of Penn Women and board of directers of the YWCA, 
she was honord by several one-woman shows in New York, Philadelphia, Wilmington 
and California.  She lived and painted for more than 20 years in Greece, both 
Thessaloniki and Athens. She is survived by her four children, 10 grandchildren 
and 3 great grandchildren.
