Re: Ancestors of John of Exeter

Cousins,
I have been looking over Kevin's extensive database on the Sinclairs.
I'm sure many of you will find this quite interesting and begins to explain
some of Niven's statements about the Sinclairs returning again and again to
unite with the same families. You can follow many of the wives' lines many
generations backwards from the time of Earl George (First Sinclair Earl
George-but by the total Earl of Caithness listing, Earl George II because
there was an Earl George I from another family before the Sinclairs came
into the Earlship-hope to have this complete Earl of Caithness list for you
one of these days)
Of course, we can only see a two dimensional picture of the lineages.
The charts do not show the marriages of siblings into significant lines. I
think this is important in order to grasp a better picture of history. That
is one of the beauties of a website. One can make links from the
information and supply additional history and trivia.
We have a few more issues to run through before I begin to incorporate
Kevin's information into the waiting links set up a year ago from "Allied
families". Be patient, we want to get this right, even then you might see
something we have overlooked, so welcome any input.
Laurel
