Re: John Sinkler

This Henry Sinclair was the natural son of John Master of Caithness.
Henry's 1/2 brother was James Sinclair, first of Murkle, ancestor of Gen.
Arthur St. Clair, six generations removed. Henry's 1/2 brother became Earl
George after his grandfather Earl George died. John, Master of Caithness
had already died so his generation was skipped in the line of Earls. See
charts at www.clansinclairusa.org "history" then Earls of "Caithness"
Henry and Janet's son John was captured and sent as a prisoner and
eventually is recorded at Exeter, NH 1658 as Salmon Sinkler because of his
broad accent, supposedly. John of Exeter became the ancestor of thousands
of Sinkler, St. Clair, Sinclair, Sinclere, etc. in the US.
