Re: Vikings & Volunteers

That is certainly interesting. Just the other day someone remarked to me
that the Brits don't acknowledge their Viking history very often. This
might be an eyeopener. I have put this in "For the Lads" in the Clan USA
pages. Of course it won't do the USA lads any good but is interesting.
I am wondering about using the male line. I heard of a study maybe 5
years ago among the French descendants of Nova Scotia but using the female
line. Maybe was called the Eve Project. There are good genealogical
records there because of the Catholic Church and many people like myself who
have connected back into this population and have these documented blood
lines.
Which brings up the subject of a theory of 10 extra generations in some
of these Acadian families because they connected into Prince Henry's
immigrants there in 1398. The idea is that they dwelt further into Canada
but when the French arrived they blended into their populations. I would
like to know where the proof of these extra generations came from and how
their lineage got blended into the arriving priests' records.
