 Genetic variations in haemoglobin (such as sickle-cell haemoglobin and
haemoglobin C) and an enzyme deficiency of red blood cells  apparently makes
those blood cells less prone to infection by malarial parasites and come
from environmental factors 1 in 400 Caucasiana in the Middle East
suffer from sickle cell problems
