Dear Friends,
It is with great sadness that I report the death of Maise, the wife of Iain Sutherland, founder, and Chairman, of the Wick Heritage Centre, who died on Monday evening 28th February.
Those of you who had the pleasure of meeting Iain, and being conducted on a guided tour of his centre, and the magnificent journey through history and time, will appreciate that the support and encouragement he received from Maise, gave him that commitment to put every spare minute he had into the project, and what a credit that centre is, to all the team that dedicated their support to Iains guidance.

Both Niven and myself are deeply indebted  to Iain and his team at the Wick Heritage Centre, for giving us the permission, several years ago, to operate under the umbrella cover of their society, and set up the Sinclair and Girnigoe Task Force. He gave us the most precious thing a busy man can give, 3 years of his time.
With the support, and historic knowledge. of Iain Sutherland, the "Clan Sinclair Trust", under the guidance of our chief, Malcolm Caithness, is now in the strong position to generate the rebuilding of the "Sinclair dream", with its library / study centre and the preservation of castles Girnigoe and Sinclair.

Ian Sinclair of Noss.
