Perhaps I should clarify my statement as to only helping "direct
descendants". I have found that there are unfortunately a fairly large
number of persons who are collecting everything they can get their hands on
and then passing the knowledge off as their own.

I have had two unpublished books copyrighted by other entities through my
ignorance and trust. Therefore, I now have a standing rule that unless the
person sends me their family sheets as far back as they can document, I will
send none of my unpublished works, and will only send material pertaining to
their particular line.

I have approximately 400 long time subscribers who send me everything they
find on the "net". I have had several crying sessions when my own material
was sent to me under a trusted person's name.

This is not just related to the Sinclair branch. All genealogical societies
that I am connected with are experiencing the same problems and many of
those researchers are simply not sending out anything to anyone. That is
the greatest fear I have - that materials will become lost due to people not
sharing them. This is why I have done my very best to get what I have into
print.

I hope this clarifies my position. I am glad to help anyone I can but I
refuse to be used.
