Le coq apparaît dès l'Antiquité sur des monnaies gauloises. Il devient
symbole de la Gaule et des Gaulois à la suite d'un jeu de mots, le terme
latin " gallus " signifiant à la fois coq et gaulois.
Il est surtout utilisé à l'étranger pour évoquer la France, notamment comme
emblème sportif.

24 May 1914 at the Paris Opera
(The rooster appears since antiquity on the Gallic currencies. It becomes
