Search on the name and you will come up with a print of the painting of
him. You will also find that a number of libraries have a collection of
the correspondence between George Washington and Sir John, and Thomas
Jefferson and Sir John.
He is also noted for the attempts he made to increase the food
productivity in Scotland and to improve the lives of his people.
I have read that Mey was his home. So if you get the chance to go to
Scotland, visit Mey, knowing that it was not only the summer home of the
Queen Mother, but originally the home of Sir John Sinclair.
