Were you aware that there is a "passing" mention of Sir John Sinclair of
Murkle in the Scottish classic "Memoirs of a Highland Lady" written by
Elizabeth Grant of Rothiemurchus (originally published in 1898 by John
Murray) ?
My edition is the 2 volume paperback published in 1988 by Canongate
Publishing Limited, and is number 11 in their "Canongate Classics" series.
ISBN is Vol 1: 0 86241 147 5 Vol 2: 0 86241 145 9.
There is also mention of Sir George Sinclair, eldest son of Sir John
(organiser of the "Statistical Account of Scotland")
Thought it might be of some interest.
