Salmon Fishing

An article in yesterday's John O'Groats Journal speaks of the traditional
opening of salmon fishing in the Thurso River. A piper leads the anglers down
to the river in a 4 beat march. The area's most prolific fisherman the leads
the group in a toast of the river and the catch they hope to aquire. A photo
also shows the crowd, riverside,  dressed in their tweed and fleece, with
glasses raised, and piper in tow. Now that's a tradition I could get used to.
