Re: COMPLAIN

Dear Bob:
Hold on. Please don't compound the error. When one has needs, there are
pleasant and unpleasant ways of going about attempting to satisfy them.
Betty had needs for American input and she was absolutely right to make
enquires about getting information related to that. Where she was a little
out of line was the gratuitous slamming of interests of some other members
of the group whose interests didn't exactly correspond to her own. For
example, complaining about language used by another who is only speaking
english the way they were taught and also claiming that what the other
speaks is slang while what oneself is speaking is somehow the way the world
should be speaking, betrays a type of ethnocentrism that the internet is
attempting to break down. In the end, it was disrepectful but, in the
scheme of things, no where near a major sin. I am happy give Betty the
room that she seems not able to give others at this point. If that sounds
patronizing, too bad.
                        Yours aye, Rory
