: the Duchess of Windsor

Thomas Jefferson once wrote "How boring it is to spell a word only one way."

The "Sinclair family connection" is via Priscilla Harden is the mother of
Upton Beal Sinclair..Both genealogies are readily available.

The assertion that : the Duchess of Windsor was a Sinclair is just plane
wrong.

You used the name Wallace in the body of your message of 10 Dec 2002
06:54:39 EST that began this discussion.

"Hello!

Wallace Warfield Simpson, the Duchess of Windsor, whom King Edward
VIII married, was a Sinclair. She was born near Greensburg, Pennsylvania
and
died in Paris, France. She was related to the novelist and social reformer
Upton Sinclair, who came from Baltimore, Maryland.

Sincerely,

Susan M. Grady
Alexandria, Virginia"

I used Bessie Wallis Warfield.Simpson the Duchess of Windsor 1896-1986 11
Dec 2002 10:17:19 +0100
On 12 Dec 2002 18:40:08 EST you used it again.

I had misspelled it the original message on 4 Jun 2001 21:11:57 +0200 when I
wrote "Not only are you related to the writer Upton Sinclair you also have
Australian relations that are much closer than the Shetlands. Your history
according to the US Navy glows. One of your forbearers has the American Gold
star, twice! Wallace Warfield Simpson, Duchess of Windsor has a branch on
your tree."

My spelling is appalling!

Sinclair
