RE:More Questions than Answers

True! And it is an ideal and concept to which I whole heartedly agree and subs cribe to. But without responsibility, it is also a formula for chaos and anarchy; hence this ideal is tempered with laws and rules of conduct to ensure that no persons unalienable rights can be trampled or overshadowed by another persons right to the same. There are consequences for violating these laws and rules, some of those consequences can be taken care of in a court. But when people or organizations flout or refuse to recognize legal authority then other measures & consequences must apply, else why would we, the world, have fought two world wars? Does anyone have the final total on how many US and foreign citizens had their unalienable rights ripped from their lives in the twin tower atrocity?

Mr. Erks comments were originally quoted to make a point that militant Islam was not a “fringe minority”, my reasoning stands that by definition of majority militant Islam is a fringe minority.

In a speech given December 8, 1941, FDR said:
 “As Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Navy I have directed that all measures be taken for our defense.
Always will we remember the character of the onslaught against us.
No matter how long it may take us to overcome this premeditated invasion, the American people in their righteous might will win through to absolute victory.
I believe I interpret the will of the Congress and of the people when I assert that we will not only defend ourselves to the uttermost but will make very certain that this form of treachery shall never endanger us again.”
In this vein has our current president responded to the attacks on this country, to this new “day of infamy”.

Winston Churchill said:
		"Danger - if you meet it promptly and without flinching - you will reduce the danger by half. Never run away from anything. Never!"
And;
".... You ask, What is our policy? I will say; "It is to wage war, by sea, land and air, with all our might and with all the strength that God can give us: to wage war against a monstrous tyranny, never surpassed in the dark lamentable catalogue of human crime. That is our policy." You ask, What is our aim? I can answer with one word: Victory - victory at all costs, victory in spite of all terror, victory however long and hard the road may be; for without victory there is no survival."

	Bin Laden has never been financed by the U.S. government; however Afghanistan freedom fighters were in fact supplied by the U.S. in their efforts against the Soviet invasion. On the other allegations I would be a foolish man to speak of something of which I know little. But I do promise to educate my self on them.

I do not think that any thing in my previous correspondence could be misconstrued as overly prideful, so I am not quite sure why the good books proverb was included.

And I applaud both the British and French soldiers, who joined their respective militaries out of patriotism, I am sure. I am also thankful for their willingness to sacrifice their lives for principles and values that they believe in and which their respective country’s were founded on. These men could die today so that we can continue in a fruitless debate (please see my last line). All through out history men & women have died for their countries and beliefs. In the U.S. , Nathan Hale said just before he was executed by the British:
	"I only regret that I have but one life to give for my country"

And finally “Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.” Author unknown.
