One could argue that that didn't happen until after the Black Plague
of 1348, when English became the language of the law courts.
One could argue that it didn't happen until Chaucer wrote in English,
at the end of the 14th century, more than 300 years later,
in the time of Richard II of England and Robert II of Scotland.
