LOL - just to bring things into proper prospection - The Gospel
According to St. Matthew, chapter 1 begins thusly: "The book of the
generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
Leaving there are beginning at the 16th verse: "And Jacob begat Joseph
the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ." It
goes on to say there are 14 generations Abraham to David, and from him
to the carrying away into Babylon 14 more and then 14 more to the birth
of Jesus. That is one version. and all the fathers are named. No
mothers, we just had the kid.
Then to quantify things even more Luke 3: 23-38 Which ends, "Which was
the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God."
It also says in the ver 29 that Jesus is of the family of Levi.
So a few generations to find Cassius Clay anticedents is easy. To find
the first St Clair(Sinclair) a snap of the fingers. But to find who
begat whom in the 18th century, from one side of the ocean to the
other? Impossible! No records and if there had been were destroyed in
the many fires, deliberate and otherwise. Such is the task of those who
want to find their anticedents. Sally
