The American Legion still sells the poppies.  I found out last year, after
being stimulated by Sinclair's messages on the Poppy history, that veterans
in a retirement home at White City, OR make the poppies to support their
facility.  I was unable to find out whether they make them just for Oregon
or a larger area.  I was able to obtain a quantity and sold them at my DAR
meeting.  Each years has a date on them.
