For "Navy" terminology

Yes, Bill, USNRet. But terminology changes over the years. What I posted
as Arthur Sinclair's naval records from 1798-1831 was printed in the
Virginia Historical Magazine of the 1920s. Suggest you heigh yourself to
Fort Ward in Alexandria, VA and read the official records as they were
compiled for the time of the civil war.  Better still search on "War of
1812" and see what you get for official story, written for that time. I
do know you 'fake' down rope, i.e., coil it. LOL Sally
