We are probably both correct.  The cover of the April issue (FT 144
April 2001) features a self portrait of Austin Osman Spare.  The May
issue (FT 145 May 2001) features a drawing of a "hog faced gentlewoman
in evening dress" (sorta cute in her own way).  The May issue was
received by Borders book store on April 27 so it is the most recent
issue.  In the upper right hand corner of both magazines are prices
for the US ($4.95) and Canada ($6.95) which makes me believe that I am
purchasing on this side of the Atlantic, the "North American" edition
of the magazine.  I have noticed this before when UK list members on
this and other lists made reference to articles in the Fortean Times.

The MAY issue of Fortean Times is Number 146, NOT 145.  Are you sure
you
asked for the MAY issue, or just the MOST RECENT issue.  If you asked
for
the most recent issue, and the store had not restocked their shelves,
then
they would've given you the April issue, which is number 145.
