Thank you. I had forgotten that meaning. Perhaps because we have had a
very
dry
summer, and have begun to wonder what that phenomenon - rain -
might be like. (At least Melbourne has had a very
dry summer ).

As a NZer I can add another meaning, a golfer asking what is the weather
like to-day the reply can be( it's p-----g down) so golf is off The
Oxford translation meaning (it is raining heavily) stay at
home
