Dear fellow Clan Society memebers,

Greetings from Alaska.  My name is Russ Madigan and I am the
chairman of the Clan Committee for the Alaskan Scottish Highland Games.
I am also the State Commissioner for the Clan Campbell Society (N.A.)  I
have been given the great honor of organizing as many clans as possible
for our games which will be held on June 23 in Eagle River Alaska.

My purpose for contacting everyone on the list is to get a list of
names of your clan members that would be interested in having a clan
tent or participating in our games.  Our games are rather small and it
is hard to organize any sort of clan activity such as a clan rally or a
parade of tartans.  Last year we had only 6 clans represented.  I hope
to atleast double that number.  My plan is to hold a Clan Rally on the
night before the games and then have a grand parade of tartans during
the opening ceremonies.  I'm not asking for each represented clan have a
tent, but only to register with me so I can include them in the rally
and parade.  However, it would be glorious to have as many clan tents as
possible.

Now, I would like to take a moment to invite everyone to come see
our games.  Most people don't think of highland games when the think of
Alaska.  This is our 20th anniversary and we hope to put on a grand
show.  We are hosting several bands from "out of state" as well as our
Alaskan bands from Fairbanks and Anchorage.  Last year we hosted the
City of Sails Pipe Band from New Zealand and the MacGregor Pipe Band
from British Columbia.  The MacGregors have decided to return to compete
and to take in more of our great fishing.  If anyone is interested in
attending our games and seeing our great state, please visit these
websites: www.alaskascottish.org   and www.inalaska.com

As a side note, during my search for email addresses I looked at
each of your websites and found them all most splendid.  Many of them
were extraordinary.  Great graphics and loads of information.

Please contact your Alaskan members and have them contact me at the
following address:  Russ Madigan, Clan Committee Chairman, PO Box 771943
Eagle River, AK 99577 or 907 694-7877 or rmadigan@alaska.net

Thank you for your attention and look forward to hearing from you of
your clansmen and clanswomen.

Slainte,

Russ Madigan
