Re:The Stone of Scone or Destiny .

Dear Laurel

The Stone of Scone or Destiny is in Edinburgh Castle it was returned by John
Major's government to Scotland. For 700 years, under the Coronation Chair
in Westminster Abbey sat a lump of rock. A rock which was stolen from
Scotland in 1296 by the English King Edward I. This piece of rock is known
as The Stone of Destiny or The Stone of Scone, and is reputed to be the
stone on which all Scottish Kings were crowned. The Stone is surrounded in
myth and is said to have been brought to Scotland from the Holy Land, the
biblical Jacob's Pillow.

On 15th November 1996, this Stone was returned to Scotland, for display in
Edinburgh Castle. .That, was a mistake the United Kingdom is one and the
Stone was a symbol of British Monarchy. It is as if Oregon were not part of
the USA. Our Queen is no less Queen in Scotland as she is in England, Wales,
Northern Ireland and her Realms and Dominions overseas. People need symbols
to bind them together as you use your flag as an icon we use our Crown. We
are no less Scots for having the Stone we are unfortunately less British.

As Ever
