British Luck
I was always told that there was no such thing as "luck" unless you spelled
it with a "p"
which makes it "pluck" which is just another word for "guts" which is just
another word
for "courage" which is the one quality which guarantees everything else in
life.
Courage to say "no" to drugs
Courage to say "no" to temptation
Courage to stand up and be counted
Courage to abide by the dictates of your own conscience
Courage to do the same thing day in and day out to keep your family housed
and clothed.
It is easy to be brave when you have your regiment around you. It is much
more difficult
when you stand alone in a sea of indifference or when faced with open
hostility because
you are black or white or of a different religious persuasion.
Prince Henry Sinclair took more than a fleet of ships to the New World.
He took a message of peace, tolerance and
understanding.
No wonder that that loving legacy lives on in the hearts and minds of men.
His treatment of the indigenous people was impeccable by the standard of
his day.
