hello all... i am new to the list as well as sinclair research, and if you believe this family chart i have in front of me, then i have sincliar ancestry in the way back years... thus my question. i have sinclairs listed as being from hermandstoun, hermannston, and various other forms of that name. how do these sinclairs/st clairs relate to the roslin/orkney line? and am i correct in thinking that that place name might refer to modern-day hermiston, scotland? i would love to hear from anyone who knows about such things, and would welcome reading recommendations about the hermandstoun line. i look forward to more good sinclair talk in the future.
