Peter,I might have an answer for the William Sinclair you mentioned, who might be the son of Donald the Sailor. My ggg grandfather was William Sinclair b 1793 @ Hempriggs house, Wick parrish. He immigrated to America in 1805, alone. I have never been able to find information about his ancestors, if he was a "natural" son of Donald, that may be an indication. I would also think that Donald would have been in his later years when William was born. Do you have dates for the ancestors of David?
I have pictures and Information for Hempriggs House, Bilbster House, and would we willing to share.
