Didn't forget; just didn't get it put in the timeline in time.
It's there now, along with the Japan-U.S. Security Treaty of the same day
(text available in
http://133.12.178.4/Faculty/Devine/documents/security52.html
) that was signed on 8 Sept 1951, as well as
the surrender of Japan on 2 Sep 1945 on the U.S.S. Missouri in Tokyo Harbor,
and VJ Day, 1945, 14 August, Allied Victory over Japan; end of hostilities
of World War II.
