Page 42 of The History of the Sinclair Family in Europe and America says
that William Sinclair, father of Gen. Arthur St. Clair was a merchant in
Thurso and died in young manhood. He married, probably, Miss Murray.
Children:
Arthur b. March 23, 1736
James baptized 1738
So if the father died fairly young these may be the only boys and there is
your ancestor.
Also: Arthur was baptized by the Rev. William Innes, minister in Thurso so
maybe you would find more records on James at that same church.
