do you know of any St. Clairs who married into the BROOKES family of Prince
George Co., Maryland? my gggf was John St. Clair Brookes, 1787-1858, who
married Esther Jane FOWLE of Alexandria, VA. his father may have been a
Captain John Smith Brookes, his mother is unknown but i assume that she's
the St. Clair. because i've had little to no luck tracing the Brookes line
directly, i'm hoping i might find some leads this way. do you have any
clues as to where i should look next?
