Dear Cousins,
Just one small point to consider in these discussions about the "Stone of
Scone or Destiny".  Are we that sure "the Stone of Scone" is the REAL one in
Edinburgh Castle and not a substitute (the Bethel Stone)?
I would be remiss without drawing your attention to another point-of-view. 
And a source  from a book  (I  recently read) for your consideration.  "The
Head of God" by Keith Laidler raises this issue.  See page 43 where you will
read "It seems inconceivable that no steps were taken to preserve the Stone
of (Scone) Destiny, and more likely that the canny Scots placed a
'counterfeit' stine in the place of honour at Scone, and carried off the true
stone to a place of safety."
Any thoughts about this idea?
