Re: St. Clair VA/WV

Dear Amber,
I ,too, am glad to see some other St.Clairs from the U.S. represented on
this list. My family's ancestors are not from VA or WV, however, but settled
in the Western Pennsylvania mountains. The first one born in America was
James St.Clair (1741-1806); born in Wheatfield Township near York, PA. His
son, also named James St.Clair (1774-1855), moved to Brushvalley Township
near Pittsburgh in 1809 where my branch of the family stayed until the end of
the century.
If there are any other readers connected with this line, I would love to hear
from them.
Cheers, Hal St.Clair
