Sinclair House

When any of you are in Edinburgh, you might like to look at:

										John Sinclair House
										16 Bernard Terrace
										Edinburgh EH8 9NX

It is the home of the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical
Monuments of Scotland which was
founded in 1908 when a Sir John Sinclair was Secretary of State for
Scotland. This Sir John should not be
confused with the Sir John Sinclair (1754-1835) who founded the Department
of Agriculture under William
Pitt 'the Younger' although he, too, came from the distinguished Ulbster
branch of the family which has
produced such a succession of outstanding men (and women).
