Hi David:
It is good to see you sending out all this good info to members of the Clan
altthough the necessary shortness of email messages can sometimes leave
false impressions.   For example, I would not like to have people think that
all the St. Clair Erskines were a bunch of spenthrift ne'erdowells when it
was really only Harry St. Clari Erskine, loveable rogue that he was, who
sold off everything for gambling debts.   It was not the others and most
particularly not the present one's fault to have been saddled with the
Chapel and Castle and no means to support it.
Good news is in the offing in that Peter Rosslyn and Malcom Caithness are
talking re: the 2000 gathering and there is hope that some of the past
unhappiness  may be dissipating.  Here's hoping!   I will phone to give you
