Re: Argyll- Islay

Dear John;
To avoid any confusion there are some on this list that have been doing some
academic research on the Argyll Sinclairs specifically and formed a bit of a
writers and researchers group. We have been sharing and co-ordinating
information with all the Sinclairs that trace to Argyll and no there is no
closed discussions on your list.
In a short while the information collected to date will be sent to the Clan
Associations and posted. I will be contacting you directly on the posibility
of posting a summary on the web site and this will be submitted to the clan
newspapers. Genealogical information has been and continues to be exchanged
at a great rate. We invite all inquiries and sharing of this common
heritage. Over time the painstaking work of collecting all the names of
Sinclairs in Argyll is being conducted but this will take some eons yet! A
good number of the Argyll references on the list have been coming from yours
truly and the other Argyll descendants. We are currently looking for
published sources on the Argyll Colony.
