Didn't I hear that Campbell's Soup company along with Nordstroms, and what
else?
Got their big start in Seattle during the Alaskan gold rush.  We went to a
Gold Rush Museum run by the Parks Service in Seattle and learned a lot of
interesting stories.  Seattle hired promo men to go back east and convince
the people that the only way to get to Alaska was through Seattle and thus
the pockets of these companies began to bulge as prospectors bought the
year's supply of food and equipment required by Canada before they could
enter that country.
