Re: the sea of History

Dear Wallace-Murphy

I read your comments on Williams mother with interest. Thank you for the
insights. I had written "The mother of William the Conqueror is in
discrepancy. It is either Herleve de Falaise, also spelled Harlette and
Arlette. However, Usherwood states that she was Duke Robert's mistress, a
tanner's daughter."

Kahlil Gibran wrote "Yesterday we obeyed kings and bent our necks before
emperors. But today we kneel only to truth, follow only beauty, and obey
only love." I find your comments both useful and thrilling. I will explore
the material I have at hand further." The truth of these long ago events is
elusive. The beauty is when an insight appears with certainty. The love is
knowledge in it self. I do appreciate the passion that you find historic mis
statements a personal affront. No wonder you write so well. I wish that
everyone on this list had the opportunity to read your writings.

What murky waters we wade in as we try to explore the edges of the sea of
history.

Thank you

Sinclair
