Re: Sinclair Dates & a Genealogy?

Genealogy is a subject which has held little interested to me until now. I
wonder if my family roots are some how connected to the McGibbons family?
There is an understanding our ancestors came from Scotland or England.
Ulysses Gibbons had a son, Joseph Franklin Gibbons (1839-1879). They were
well educated. When Joseph came to America at the age of 13 with his father
he could speak very little English. This causes me to wonder if maybe they
spoke a Scottish version of English? Joseph's headstone is in the Riely
Taylor Grave Yard in Harlan County, Kentucky. I am reading this from
research sent from a family member. They have checked the name Fitzgibbons
but not the McGibbons name.

Has anyone any suggestions?

Jerry Gibbons
