The Sinclairs of Herdmanstoun are a well-known branch of the family and the
current Lord Sinclair is a WWII hero and a descendant of this line.  If you
can, I would suggest that you get to your nearest reference Library and
consult "The St. Clairs of the Isles"  by Roland St. Clair of New Zealand.
It has been out of print fo 100 tears but copies exist and you will find a
complete chapter on this branch.  You may or may not be able to connect
directly but it is worth a try.  Hermanstoun (Hermiston) is in Midlothian
not far from Rosslyn anothe major Sinclair landmark.
