Wrong date pure and simple because a: there was no battle of Falkirk in 1746 -- there was the Battle at Culloden in quite a different location and b: the King on the Throne was George III of the "Madness of " fame or perhaps better known as the bete noire in the American story of their Revolution.  There were no Edwards about at least for a couple of hundred years in either direction..    So no cigar here although I always admire lateral thinking.
