RE: Sinclair family near San Francisco

I have a Family tree that goes back to the year 888 but I don't know
about Sinclairs in the SF area. I am a Sinclair from the Michigan area.
Paul Sinclair from the Kingcrest page on the Sinclair site is looking at
the family tree and may scan it in to the web for all to see. You may
find some of your ancestors in it, at least the initial founding members
of the family!

Thanks for the tip on the SF event.

Take care,

Cheryl Sinclair

Dear Cheryl:

I am a Sinclair also living near San Francisco. The Sinclair's
were represented at the Scottish Gathering and Games in Pleasanton
(Alameda
Co. Fairgrounds) sponsored by The Caledonian Club of San Francisco over
Labor Day weekend. I believe that is the date each year.

I have had great difficulty in finding my connection to
Scotland.
The family history has it that the Sinclair's I decended from arrived in
San Francisco during the gold rush. The main problem is that most of
the
records for the bay area were destroyed during the '06 quake. The
furthest
I can go is that my Grandfather was Willard Sinclair born somewhere in
the
bay area around 1870. It seems both my father and grandfather waited
until
later in life to have children. My father was Douglas Willard born in
Oakland in 1911. He had a brother Kenneth born around 1906.

Have you found a good source for tracing Sinclair's in this neck
of
the woods?

Cheers,

Kathleen Sinclair Cannuli
