Hi All,
I have been doing some more reading and have come across the following 
Sinclairs.

Mr James Sinclair, born in Caithness Scotland in 1836, trained to a  
farming life on the Dunbeath estate. 
He arrived in Lyttelton New Zealand on board the 'Indiana' in 1858.
He married Miss Annie Mackay.

James Sinclair born in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1853, he was brought to 
Port Chalmers, New Zealand by his father on board the 'Sevilla' in 1858.

Peter Sinclair foreman and blacksmith,he was born in Coupar-Angus, 
Perthshire Scotland 31st of March 1846.He came to Lyttelton, New Zealand 
in October 1870 on the 'Merope'
