Here it is Dave.
Spring 1995 of YOURS AYE, the Sinclair Newsletter.  " There was a family, by the name of Roskelyn, that lived in the area long before the St. Clairs appeared.  The first of the St. Clairs came into the areaduring the reign of Malcolm Canmore (1057) and were granted lands of the Barony Rosline during this time."  I think I read somewhere else that William gained these lands through his marriage.  Many times facts seem to conflict but in the long run, with more insight, they might both be true.
